I was teased at school because of my skin. It greatly affected my confidence and as I entered adulthood it affected my social life, my relationships and my career. But I thought I would ‘grow out of it’ once I hit adulthood. However, this did not happen. At the age of 31, I began to study natural approaches to overcoming acne and pretty quickly, I managed to achieve a great complexion. Over the last decade, I have helped others to overcome acne and this led me to write the “Axe Adult Acne” e-book so I can help others.

I first became a personal trainer back in 1996, I had always been interested in nutrition due to my sporting exploits and weight training and achieved my first nutrition qualification in 1998.

In 2000, I saw a presentation by Paul Chek, the founder of the CHEK Institute at Loughborough University in the UK. He spoke about nutrition and skin conditions especially acne. He spoke about acne and it’s link to food intolerances and toxic overload. Armed with this new knowledge, I received a food sensitivity test and was also told I had a Candida Albicans infection, which is a form of fungus.

I went on an anti-fungal diet and avoided the foods I was intolerant to. I also stopped using the anti-biotics that I had been using for 18 years to overcome acne (which hadn’t worked). Within a few weeks my skin improved greatly and my severe acne has never returned.
